The Magic Shoe
by Safia Didi, London, England
"Once there was a girl called Safia. She needed some shoes
for her third year at Sudbourne Primary School.
Safia walked to Clarks and saw lots of different shoes
but all of them were very ugly. She picked up a dull,
black pair.
“I wish these were beautiful” She Sighed.
Then to her surprise she saw in her hand a glittery, black,
Dazzling pair of shoes. Safia blinked and looked again.
“They must be Magic” She gasped, “Brill”.
Safia decided to buy them and then she skipped home.
"That night Safia was thinking it would be wonderful to
go to Morocco. She sneaked to the kitchen and wished on her
new shoe.
"Whoosh, in a second She was there, lying on the warm sand watching
the waves. A camel was wondering along in front of her.
After a relaxing afternoon, Safia took the bus to her grandmothers
house. There she saw her cousins playing in the street in their
ragged clothes.
“I wish all these children could go to school like me.
Safia wished on her shoe.
Whoosh, the children were wearing smart school clothes holding
days full of books.
“Bye Safia” they called, waving as they ran off.
Safia thought it was time to go back to Brixton to see her
brother Yacoub. When she got home there was a big chocolate
cake waiting for them both.
“Happy Birthday!” cried everyone.
There was no need to make a birthday wish this year as
Safia had her magic shoe."
