Dyslexia – my life
By Michael Priestley-Biggs
I am dyslexic like Mr Zephaniah
And, like him, poetry is a desire
I also like plays and my drama
When I’m acting on stage, life seems calmer
When not on a stage, my head’s in a daze
Just like staring into space in a deep gaze
Thoughts in my mind seem so out of order
Like illegal aliens trapped at the border
When I am playing pool, I can see the angles
But, with other things, my mind just mangles
At the end of the day, I am dyslexic
Can make like fun but also very hectic
Dyslexia explains all my troubles and strifes
I wrote this poem – time to get on with my life
