The Mixed Up Nursery Rhyme
by Hannah Partos
Mary, Mary, quite contrary
Have you any wool?
With silver bells and cockleshells
And pretty maids all in a row
I had a little nut tree
Nothing would it bear
In came the doctor
In came the nurse
In came the lady with three bags full
To fetch a pail of water
And vinegar and brown paper
The little dog laughed
A pocket full of posies
The wheels on the bus go round and round
Why did you let it go?
The King of Spain's daughter came to visit me
Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake
Jelly on a plate
Baker's man
Because it bit my finger so
All day long.
